Adjust sales transactions

You can use the following options to make changes to transactions entered on your customer accounts.

You can:

  • Amend Transactions.

If a transaction has not been allocated, you can amend transaction references and due dates.

  • Amend Allocation.

You can unallocate a transaction, using Amend Allocation.

  • Refund Online Card Receipts.

Refund receipts made using an online service provider such as Opayo (formerly Sage Pay).

  • Reverse transaction.

You can reverse a transaction, provided:

    • It is not an opening balance transaction.
    • It has not been allocated.
    • It does not have a query against it.
    • If it is a bank transaction, it has not been reconciled to your bank statement, and the bank account is in the same currency as your base currency.
    • If it is an online receipt transaction, it has not been partially refunded already and you have user permissions to refund payments.

Note: You cannot reverse a foreign currency transaction, but you can refund a foreign online receipt.

  • Delete Transactions.

As a last resort to solve balance problems on a customer account, if there is no backup available, or to clear test data on your system before applying live data, you can delete transactions.

  • Provisions for Bad Debt.

Use this to write off customer debt prior to claiming back the VAT.

  • Write off Bad Debts.
