Amend customer transaction details (due date and references)
Use this to amend the details of a customer transaction - the Reference, Second reference, or Due date. This only updates the customer transaction and not transactions in other ledgers.
Note: To change anything else, use Correct Transactions. See Correct posted customer transactions.
How to
Amend transaction details
As long as a transaction hasn't been allocated, you can change its Due date, Reference or Second Reference.

Open: Sales Ledger > Adjust Transactions > Amend Details.

Select the customer account from the Code drop-down list.
All unallocated transactions are displayed.
Note: If all transactions on an account are allocated, no transactions are shown.

To filter the displayed transactions, you can specify the Transaction type, and the Date from and To.

Amend the Reference, Second Ref and Due Date for the relevant transactions.

Click Save.
Amend an allocated transaction
To amend an allocated transaction, you must first unallocate it using the Amend Allocations.

Useful info
Changing transaction references
When you change the references, the original customer transaction is updated and no further transactions are posted.
The customer transaction will be displayed with the new references in customer lists, workspaces, enquires and reports. You'll be able to use the new reference to find the transaction.
Note: The references will not be changed for the related transactions in other ledgers, such as nominal transactions.
