User authentication for API and web apps
You can enable additional authentication for a user, using their Sage account or Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).
Set up authentication for a user when they will:
-
Use Sage web apps externally, such as the Web Portal, Self Service web app, Power BI, Power Automate, or the Sage 200 API.
-
Use third party apps which access your data via the Sage 200 API.
Enable authentication for a user
Open: System Administration > Users.
- Double-click the user's System name name, or right-click the user and choose Properties.
- Select the API tab.
-
Select Sage to allow this user to log onto third party apps which access your data via the Sage 200 API.
Note: To use the Sage 200 API, you must also activate the API in System Administration. See Set up access to apps via the Sage 200 API.
-
Enter an email address for this user. This is the Sage account email address they'll use to sign in to the app.
The user will receive an email asking them to complete the registration process to create a Sage account.
Each user will still only be able access company data via an app, for companies they have access to on the Company Access tab.
-
Enable Microsoft Entra ID (previously Azure AD) to set up this user to be authenticated by Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory). This allows the user to access web apps such as the Web Portal.
-
Enter the user's email address for their Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) account.
