Create and amend price bands
Note: Limited price bands are available if you have selected Enable limited price bands in Price Book default settings.
A price band is price list. Each price band contains the prices of your stock items. Each price band is linked to your customer accounts and this determines the price your customer receives for each stock item.
These contain the prices for all stock items.
- All customers are linked to the Standard price band by default.
- A customer can only belong to a single Universal price band.
- When a customer is added to a new Universal price band, they are removed from an existing one.
- Every customer must belong to at least one Universal price band. When they are removed from a price band they're automatically added back to the Standard price band.
These can be used for special and promotional prices. You can choose which stock items prices to include and which customers they're linked to. You can set them up in advance and choose when they're active.
- You can use both Universal and Limited price bands.
- You choose which stock items to add stock items to these price bands.
- Customers can belong to any number of Limited price bands.
- You can chose a date / time period the price band is used in.
- Once a price band has expired, you can activate it again by changing the date / times.
- You can make a price band inactive so it's not in use.
- The price in the Limited price band takes priority over a price in a Universal price band.
- When a customer is eligible for more than one limited price, the lowest price is used.
- When a customer returns goods, the current price is used by default on the return. This may be different to the price on the original order, particularly if you're using time limits on your price bands.
- All customers must be linked to a single Universal price band. This is because every customer must have a price for every stock item.
- Unless you set up additional price bands, all customers are linked to the Standard price band by default.
- Customers can be linked to any number of limited price bands, in addition to a single Universal price band.
- If a customer is linked to a Universal band and a Limited band, the price in the Limited band takes priority over the price in the Universal band, provided the Limited band is Active and has not expired.
- If a customer is linked to more than one Limited price band and is eligible for more than one limited price, the lowest price is used.
Note: When a customer returns goods, the current price is used by default on the return. This may be different to the price on the order if you are using time limits on price bands.
You can also set foreign currency prices for stock items. To do this you set a currency on the price band. Only customers using the same currency can be linked to the price band.
