Analysis codes (BOM record)
Analysis codes are used in reporting.
Analysis codes are used throughout the accounting modules. You can set up to 20 default analysis codes Analysis codes are extra pieces of information or customer fields that you can use to improve your reporting and to compare different areas of your business. Analysis codes can be used to group your records together, and transaction analysis codes can be applied directly to transactions posted to your nominal accounts. to use in the Bill of Materials module. You set these up in BOM settings.
Note: Only those analysis codes set up in BOM settings are shown on the Analysis Codes tab.
You must have:
- Set up analysis codes in Accounting System Manager.
- Set up default analysis codes for the Bill of Materials module in BOM settings.
To use analysis codes
Open: Bill of Materials > Records > New Bill of Materials | Analysis Codes.

Select a Value for each analysis code shown.
Note: If the Analysis Code was set as Mandatory in BOM settings, then you must select a value for the code. The Value box will display in red if a value is mandatory.

Change the Value selected, if required.
Note: You will only be able to do this if Allow Overtype was selected in Analysis Codes in Accounting System Manager.

Add a new Value, if required.
Note: You will only be able to do this if Allow New On Entry was selected in Analysis Codes in Accounting System Manager.
- Select the Value drop-down list.
- Click New Value.
- Enter the new Value.
- Click OK.
The new value is displayed in the Value box.

To continue entering BOM information, click the History tab.
Note: The History tab is visible if you select Keep BOM change history in the Bill of Material settings General tab.

To save your BOM details, click Save.
You will not be able to save the BOM details unless you have selected all mandatory analysis codes.
Note: If you are using all Manufacturing modules, you have selected Perform Compatibility Checks in Manufacturing System Manager system settings Environment tab and you have compatibility issues, the Compatibility Warnings prompt appears.
