Compatibility warnings prompt
Some of the information that you can enter for an operation can be used in the Bill of Materials module but cannot be used in the Estimating, Planning and Works Orders modules.
- On the Operation Record Details tab, do not use Overlap Quantity or enter seconds values for the resource.
- On the Operation Record Resources tab do not enter seconds values for the resource. Ensure that you add only the following resources with the following settings:
- On the Operation Record Subcontract tab, add only one supplier and no more than five Quantity Breaks. The supplier must use base currency.

You can select Perform Compatibility Checks in the System Settings Environment tab to receive compatibility warning messages when you save certain records and resources. When you save a record or resource that contains something incompatible, the Compatibility Warnings prompt appears.
You can still save the record or resource, or you can view the warning and choose not to save until you have corrected the issues.
Note: You can also select Run Compatibility Check in Manufacturing System Manager > System Utilities instead. This will allow you to view and print the explanation and resolution of all or a selection of compatibility issues in your system. You can then check and fix them.
To use the compatibility warnings prompt
- To return to the record or resource without saving, click No.
- To view the compatibility warnings, click View Warnings.
- To save the record or resource despite the issues identified, click Yes.
Note: We recommend you view the warnings first so that you understand what you must change on the record prior to saving it.
The Compatibility Warnings window appears.
The Record Type and Reference help you to identify the record where the problem is.
The Description identifies where the problem is in the record.
The Explanation identifies why there is a problem.
The Resolution identifies what you need to do to fix the problem.
Note: You can identify the issues and fix them later, using Run Compatibility Check in Manufacturing System Manager > System Utilities.
