Import and export System Administration data

Use import and export to migrate System Administration data

Use Export Settings to export settings (users, roles and features) to an XML file, so that you can import the information into another deployment of Sage 200 Professional.

The export and import of user information cannot create users in the new deployment of Sage 200, but user information (such as user contact properties, company access, and assigned roles) is copied automatically in the process.

Note: User passwords are not exported.

You can export roles and features information.

  • If you export roles, all roles information is copied, including the details of users assigned to the roles.

  • If you export features, note that the export file only includes features that you manually added, and does not include features from core components or add-ons.

For the manually added features, all the feature information is copied, including roles assigned to the feature and feature targets.

  • If you export features but not roles, then the features assigned to roles will not be exported, and you will need to set this up manually in the new deployment.

To ensure that the new deployment is set up correctly and as close as possible to the old deployment, we recommend that you follow this sequence:

  1. In the old deployment use Export settings.

  2. In the new deployment:

    1. Ensure your core components are properly installed.

    2. Install any add-ons.

    3. Use Import settings.
