Import System Administration settings
If you have exported settings (users, roles and features) from a Sage 200 Professional deployment, use Import settings to import the settings into another Sage 200 Professional deployment.
The import will include all the information that you chose when you exported the settings. So the import may include roles or features, or both roles and features.
-
If your import file included roles, a new role is created for each role in the import file.
The role will include the list of assigned users. Any new user accounts are created in System System Administration. As the new user accounts may be unlinked, you can use Update Users to check and link the accounts.
Note: User passwords are not exported and so are not imported.
-
If your import file included features, the new features are created. Note that the export file only includes features that you manually added, and does not include features from core components or add-ons.
If your import file included both features and roles, then each role will only include assigned features for features that were manually added. This means the role will not retain the majority of its features, for core components and add-ons.
Note: Each feature and feature target GUID must be unique and a feature and feature target will only be imported if there is not already a matching GUID in the new deployment.
