Questions: Estimating
The rapid estimate has one default stage template.
Stage templates set to be added automatically to created estimates are not added to rapid estimates.
You can change Quantity and Unit of Sale.
- If you are using the Cost + Mark-up % materials setting in estimating, you can also change the Mark-up (%), Selling Price or Margin (%).
- If you are using the Selling Prices materials setting in estimating, you can only change the Margin (%).
Quantity breaks are independent to stage totals. Once an estimate has been created, changes to the quantity breaks are no longer reflected on the estimate totals.
Note: If you change the Unit of Sale, the quantity breaks are recalculated.
Update the totals on the stage and the totals on the header and on the quantity breaks are updated.
You can only make changes manually one way or the other. Making a change on the quantity breaks means that you cannot make the change on the estimate stage details and vice versa.
The colour of the column header changes and this tells you that you cannot change the information in the column.
Some of the information that you can enter for an operation and use in the BOM module cannot be used in other Manufacturing modules.
If you want to use a BOM record in an estimate, be aware that:
- Estimating only supports one labour resource OR one machine resource per operation.
- Teardown resources are not used currently in the Estimating module.
- Only Machine setup costs are included in the Estimating module. Labour setup costs are not.
If you have an operation that uses two labour rates, for example, and you want to use the BOM in the Estimating module, create two operations for the BOM.
Estimating does not support the use of special prices.
This is for use in third party reporting.
