Amending an estimate
You can change estimates Forecast project costs, based on expected costs of labour, machinery and operation times. In Manufacturing, estimates are produced for one-off items or non-repetitive batches., depending on the estimate status.
You can change:
- Estimates with a status of Entered.
- Estimates with a status of Production.
- Estimates which have been converted to works orders if the Estimates can be changed after creation of Works Order setting is selected on the Estimate settings General tab.
Note: If you specified password security, you must enter a password to amend an estimate after it has been converted to a works order.
You cannot change:
- Cancelled estimates.
- The estimate customer or product once a sales order has been created from the estimate.
Amending quantity break or stage values
You can amend Markup (%), Selling Price or Margin (%) values manually on quantity breaks or on stages, depending on your Materials setting in Estimate Settings General tab. If you choose to make manual changes, the order in which you make changes has different effects.
Manually amending the Markup (%), Selling Price or Margin (%) value of any quantity break has the following effects:
- The amended value is highlighted.
- You cannot edit similar values on the estimate stage details Totals tab. The value is retained from when the estimate was last amended or costed.
- You cannot manually amend the same values on the estimate stages once they have been manually amended on quantity breaks, unless you recost the estimate and choose to discard the amended values.
Note: Highlighting only applies to the most recent manual change you have made.
The estimate total values are taken from the stage values.
You can manually amend the Markup (%), Selling Price or Margin (%) values on the Totals tab of an estimate stage.
Amending the values on the stage has the following effects:
- The amended value is highlighted.
- The estimate quantity break values are updated, if the estimate stage is saved.
Note: Highlighting only applies to the most recent manual change you have made.
You can amend the values if you recost the estimate first and choose to discard the amended values.
