The Query Editor desktop

Open: Workspace Designer > Content Part Designer > Query Editor.

The Query Editor desktop is arranged into four panes:

  • Model Models are data schemas that describe how the information held in a particular database can be accessed and displayed within Sage 200. Each model is contained in its own dynamic link library (DLL). pane.

This shows all of the tables in the database for the selected Data Store. You can expand each table to see a full list of fields for that database table.

This is only for reference and the tables cannot be edited here.

  • Centre pane.

This pane is not titled. This is where you enter the text for a new query, or change the text of an existing query.

  • Queries pane.

This lists all of the current queries for the selected model. All of the Sage 200 default database queries are listed here.

  • Output and Results pane.

The Output tab shows everything that has been loaded the first time you open the Query Editor. When you create a new query, it shows whether the build has been successful. Any query errors are highlighted.

The Results tab (displayed when you click Preview) shows a preview of the query results.
