Set data source properties
Use the General tab to:
- Enter the data source The origin of the information being included in the Sage 200 suite. This includes the location of the information on the server. name.
- If required, enter the default connection string A unique string of characters that identifies the server where information is held and the password information to the data. for all companies connected to the data source.
If you need to set connection strings for individual companies, use the Companies tab.
To set data source properties
Open: System Administration > Information Management > Data Sources.

Right-click the Data Source Name and choose Properties.
The Properties window displays the General tab.

Enter the Data Source Name.
You must enter this name when you add a data source. You can change the name if required.
The name Accounts is reserved for Sage 200 Accounts and Manufacturing models, and the name CRM is reserved for the Sage 200 CRM model.
Note - warningSage 200 CRM is no longer supported with Sage 200 Professional from September 2021. This has been replaced by the Qmulus Qnect Connector integration. See Sage CRM - Qmulus Qnect Connector (opens in a new tab).
- Enter the Connection String Settings.

To use the information that is used to connect to the Sage 200 company, select Use Client Side Connection String.
If you select this check box, you do not need to enter a connection string on this tab or the Companies tab.

To set a default connection string, leave the Use Client Side Connection String box clear and enter a connection string.
You can enter a string or generate one by clicking the browse (...) button.
- To set connection strings for individual companies, use the Companies tab.
- Click Test Connection String to test the string is valid.
- Click OK to confirm the General properties.
