Generate connection string
Use the SQL Server Data Source Properties window to generate a data source The origin of the information being included in the Sage 200 suite. This includes the location of the information on the server. connection string A unique string of characters that identifies the server where information is held and the password information to the data..
The generated connection string will be entered automatically in the Connection String box.
To generate the connection string
Open: System Administration > Information Management > Data Sources.

Right-click the Data Source Name and choose Properties.

If you are entering a default connection string for all companies, on the General tab, leave the Use Client Side Connection String check box clear and click the browse (...) button.

If you are entering connection strings for individual companies, click the Companies tab, select the Company Name and click the browse (...) button.

Enter the User Name and Password in one of the following ways:

To use your Windows User Name and Password (Integrated Windows Authentication An automatic authentication protocol in Internet Information Services (IIS). If integrated windows authentication is used, you do not have to enter a user name and password as the current Windows user information is used automatically.), select the Use Integrated Windows Authentication check box.

To enter a User Name and Password, leave the Use Integrated Windows Authentication check box clear.

Enter the User Name.

Enter the Password.

Enter the server The server is the computer running the Sage 200 Server software. The server provides information over the network to computers running the Sage 200 Client software. name in one of the following ways:

Type the name into the Server box.

Select the name from the Server drop-down list.

Click the refresh button to search for the name from a list of server names.

Enter the company database The company database (SQL) contains all of the Sage 200 data for a company. name in one of the following ways:

Type the name into the Database Name box.

Select the name from the Database Name drop-down list.

Click the refresh button to search for the name from a list of database names.

Click Save to generate the connection string.
