MRP Output Logs
When you run MRP the demands are considered and make or buy recommendations generated.
A detailed and a summary log are produced during this process. These list the results along with the exclusions and gives you a better understanding of the MRP status.
You can view the log files and check the details. You can also send them via email to other users.
To view the logs
Open: Planning > MRP > MRP Output Log > View Log.
- Select whether to view the detailed or summary log, or both.
- Click OK.

Look at the layout.
The initial display provides a list of the selected planning settings available for alteration prior to the run.
The product range may be blank, if the All Information option (recommended), was taken.
The setting Aggregate Demand may be selected – are we going to group the demands for like products. This depends on the Aggregate Demand setting in the Planning Settings MRP tab, although you can override this when you run MRP.
Each stock item can be set to aggregate demand in a certain number of days, on the stock item Manufacturing tab. Top Level Demand is obtained from the Read Demand option in MPS Master Production Schedule (MPS). To email the logs
Open: Planning > MRP > MRP Output Log > Send To.
- Enter the user's email address.
- Select whether to send the detailed or summary log or both.
- To open the email window, click OK.
- Complete the message as required and send the message in the usual way.
The default email window opens, displaying a new message with the log file as an attachment.
