Maintain roles
This feature is used with: MPS, MRP.
If you are using all Manufacturing modules, roles are assigned against the stock item's contact details in Stock Control. You can create roles either here or in the stock item's contact details. Roles assist in the provision of items from specific warehouses. One role is allowed per contact. In the planning settings General tab, you specify the contact role that represents the buyer. MRP Materials Requirements Planning (MRP). MRP recommends purchase orders, transfers and work orders to balance supply and demand. uses this information to set the buyer code information against a recommendation.
To maintain roles
Open: Manufacturing System Manager > Settings > Maintain Roles.

Click in a line in the window to enter the role name, e.g. Buyer.

To save the roles, click OK.
The Sage 200 Manufacturing module is now retired, from the Sage 200 Professional 2025 R2 release. We've retained the product help here for customers still using Manufacturing with older versions of Sage 200.
