Remove components from a BOM
You can remove a component, sub-assembly or phantom BOM from all BOM A stock assembly and process costing system, which provides facilities to specify the structure of finished items in terms of sub-assemblies and components.s or from a subset of BOMs.
You can remove components from BOMs that are on hold but you can also choose not to do this.
If you are using version control, you cannot remove components Raw materials used to manufacture finished goods. in BOMs if:
- The BOM is checked out to another user.
- The BOM is obsolete.
- The BOM is retired.
After deleting components you can choose to recost the BOMs.
To remove a component
Open: Bill of Materials > Utilities > Maintenance > Remove Component.

Select the Stock Code of the component that you want to delete, from the drop-down list.
The Name appears automatically.

If version control is in use, there is more than one version of the BOM and you want to select a specific version, select Specific Version.
Note: If you want to remove components from all versions, do not select Specific Version.
- If you have selected Specific Version, select the required BOM Version.
- Select Exclude Bills of Material On-Hold if you do not want to remove the component from BOMs that are on hold.

Click OK.
The list of BOMs with components to remove appears.
Any BOMs that cannot be updated are listed as exclusions.
- Select the required BOMs to remove.
- Click OK to remove the component from the selected BOMs.
