Cost History Analysis Settings
Open: Bill of Materials > Utilities > System Set Up > Bill of Materials Settings | Costing.
- Click Cost History Analysis Settings ...
Enter the following default settings for viewing cost history analysis:
Select the default range of dates to show on the chart.
Select All to show dates from the earliest cost session for the Bill of Materials.
The earliest cost session shown depends on whether you are viewing cost history analysis or actuals comparison charts:
If you are viewing cost history analysis:
- The earliest date will be the earliest BOM planned cost for a specific or all BOM versions (depending on whether you select Show All Versions).
If you are viewing actuals comparison:
- The earliest date will be the BOM planned cost for any version of the BOM. Works order dates are not taken into account.
- Select Quantity to determine that cost sessions in the Date Range are displayed, using a filter on quantity.

When you view the cost analysis history, you can then enter the actual quantity you want to display. By default, the actual quantity displayed is the Default cost quantity on the BOM record Details tab.
Note:If you are viewing cost history analysis, this value is taken from the BOM version the chart is launched from. This won't change, even if Show All Versions is selected.
If you are viewing actuals comparison, this value is taken from the BOM version the chart is launched from. However, all versions are always displayed.
Select the default setting for including sub-assembly costings in the costing analysis view. Sub-assembly costings result from costing a higher level BOM.
Note: You must have selected Always recost Sub-Assemblies on the BOM Settings Costing tab in order to view sub-assembly costings in the costing analysis view.

Clear this option if you do not want to display unit costs (including overheads).

Select this if you want to display the Suggested Selling Price.

Select this if you want to display the profit.
Note: This setting only applies when you are viewing cost history analysis. It does not apply when you are viewing the actuals comparison chart.
Select the colours that you want to use for the display.
Note: You can only change the colours here. You cannot change the colours when you view the cost history analysis or the actuals comparison charts.
Select this if you want to put labels next to the points plotted on the charts.
This option is selected by default.
Clear this option if you do not want to include overheads in the cost heading distribution chart.
Note: This setting only applies when you are viewing cost history analysis. It does not apply when you are viewing the actuals comparison chart.
Choose whether to show the unit cost values as percentage or amount values.
Percentage is selected by default.
Choose Amount if you want to show actual calculated amounts.
Note: This setting only applies when you are viewing cost history analysis. It does not apply when you are viewing the actuals comparison chart.
This option is clear by default.
Select this option if you want to group by cost heading type, instead of by cost heading.
This is useful if you have several cost headings that belong to one cost heading type. For example, cutting and welding machines both belong to type, Machine.
Note: This setting only applies when you are viewing cost history analysis. It does not apply when you are viewing the actuals comparison chart.
Note: Cost history analysis settings are saved with the costing settings for the BOM, when you click Save on the Maintain BOM Settings window.
