Hide accounts that you don't use

You can't remove types of account or budgets from Sage 200 that are still linked to your transactions, such as:

  • Customer and supplier accounts
  • Nominal accounts.
  • Bank accounts.
  • Report category budgets.

Although you can't remove these, you can hide them from lists and lookups. This helps to prevent them being used by mistake, and means you only see the accounts and budgets that you are still dealing with.

Hide or show a customer or supplier account

Open: Sales Ledger > Customers List.

Open: Purchase Ledger > Suppliers List.

  1. Select the account(s) to hide, and click Account Status.

  2. Set the status of the account:

    • To hide an account, set the Active Status to Hidden.

      Enter a reason, if required.

    • To show an account, set the Active Status to Active.

Note: If you can still see hidden accounts in the Customers List or Suppliers List, click Refresh List.

Hide or show a nominal account

Open: Nominal Ledger > Nominal List.

  1. Select the account(s) to hide, and click Amend Account.
  2. Set the account status:

    • To hide the nominal account, set the Active Status to Hidden.
    • To show a hidden nominal account, set the Active Status to Active.

Note: If you can still see hidden accounts in the Nominal List. click Refresh List.

Hide or show a bank account

Open: Cash Book > Bank Account List.

  1. Select the account(s) to hide, and click Amend Account.
  2. Set the account status:

    • To hide the bank account, set the Active Status to Hidden.
    • To show a hidden bank account, set the Active Status to Active.

Note: If you can still see hidden accounts in the Bank Account List, click Refresh List.

Hide or show a combined nominal budget

Open: Nominal Ledger > Budgets > Amend Combined Nominal Budget.

  1. Select the Budget name.
  2. Set the account status:

    • To hide the budget, set the Active Status to Hidden.
    • To show a hidden budget, set the Active Status to Active.
