Internal areas (stock settings)
Internal areas represent departments such as sales, retail and production. Use them to monitor stock issued for internal use. For example, a company may sell copier paper and use it themselves.
When you issue stock for internal use, you select the relevant internal area. You can then report on the quantity of goods issued from stock to specific internal areas.
If you intend to create several internal areas you must select a default. This should be the most commonly used internal area. You can change the default area, by selecting from the internal area drop-down list when entering the transaction.
You must enter a default nominal account for posting stock values to the nominal ledger when entering internal stock movements. You can change this default account when you enter the stock movement transaction.
