Add-ons

An add-on is a package that you can install to provide extra functionality in Sage 200. Add-ons can be created by Sage, your Business Partner, third-party developers, or yourself if you have appropriate software.

An add-on will usually be supplied as a SBDX file, which you can install in System Administration. After installing the add-on, make sure users can access any new features A feature is a name for an action that you can perform in Sage 200; e.g. Enter New Supplier Account, describes the action of adding a supplier account within Sage 200 Purchase Ledger. by authorising the added features through the Features or Roles options.

The add-on Packaged Version must match the version of Sage 200 that you are using. See Add-on version compatibility.

If an add-on fails, you can use the logs created on the server for troubleshooting purposes. To view these logs, click the View Log button. You'll only see this when an add-on has failed.

Manage add-ons

Open: System Administration > Add-Ons

• The list of add-ons is displayed, and you can view details of each add-on.

  • The Title, Description, and Version are specified by the add-on developer.

  • The Packaged Version is the version number of the add-on. Sage 200 checks that the Packaged Version of the add-on matches your version of Sage 200.

    Note: This feature is only available from Sage 200 Professional 2026 R1 version onwards.

• To manage the add-ons:

  • Install add-on.

  • View add-on properties.

  • Remove add-on.

  • Upgrade add-on.

Add-on version compatibility

Sage 200 checks that the Packaged Version of the add-on matches your version of Sage 200. This ensures the add-on has been built and tested against the correct Sage 200 version and will operate correctly.

• When you install an add-on, if the Packaged Version of the add-on does not match your Sage 200 version, you will not be able to install the add-on. You must contact the developer to get an updated version of the add-on that is packaged for your version of Sage 200.

• If the Packaged Version of an add-on that's already installed does not match your version of Sage 200, you will not be able to use the Sage 200 client app, and it will display the message Sage 200 add-ons are not compatible. You must remove the add-on. See Invalid add-on (Sage 200 add-ons are not compatible).
