Authorise roles for feature groups

You can decide which users will have access to features using Roles. Features are authorised for each role A role describes the areas in which users will work normally, e.g. purchase clerk. Roles provide users with access to system features.. Then users who are members of the role can access and use an authorised feature A feature is a name for an action that you can perform in Sage 200; e.g. Enter New Supplier Account, describes the action of adding a supplier account within Sage 200 Purchase Ledger. within Sage 200. You can authorise features for roles within the Role, or authorise roles for features within the features.

You can authorise roles for a feature group. All features within the group are authorised for the role.

To authorise roles for feature groups

Open: System Administration > Features.

  1. Select a feature group.
  2. To authorise roles:

    • Right-click and select Role Authorisation - Enable Group.
    • To authorise one or more roles:
      • Select the roles you want to authorise from the Available Roles list.
      • Click > to move the role to the Authorised Roles list.
    • To authorise all roles:
      • Select all the roles in the Available Roles list.
      • Click >> to move all roles to the Authorised Roles list.
    • To move roles to the Available Roles list:
      • Select the role or roles you want to move from the Authorised Roles list.
      • Click < if you selected one or more roles.
      • Click << if you selected all roles.
  3. To remove authorisation from roles.

    • Right-click and select Role Authorisation - Disable Group.
    • To remove authorisation from one or more roles:
      • Select the roles you want to remove authorisation from in the Available Roles list.
      • Click > to move the role to the Disable Group For list.
    • To remove authorisation from all roles:
      • Select all the roles in the Available Roles list.
      • Click >> to move all roles to the Disable Group For list.
    • To move roles to the Available Roles list:
      • Select the role or roles you want to move from the Disable Group For list.
      • Click < if you selected one or more roles.
      • Click << if you selected all roles.
  4. Click OK to confirm the authorisation changes.
