Configurable names (stock settings)
You can use configurable names to make the names used in Stock Control more meaningful for your organisation.
You can enter your own labels for:
-
Locations. These labels are used when you enter stock item locations. The default labels are Warehouse and Bin.
-
References. These labels are used when you add a reference to a stock movement transaction. The default labels are Reference and Second ref.
Enter configurable names
Open: Stock Control > Utilities > System Set Up > Stock Control Settings | Configurable Names.
These are only applicable if you are using multiple locations.
The location of a stock item can be recorded by two location labels - level 1 and 2. These describe the main location and the area within that location, such as the Main warehouse in Bin 3.
-
Level 1: This is the location as a whole, such as a warehouse, depot, or a large storage area inside a building.
The default label is Warehouse.
-
Level 2: This is the specific area that a stock item is located in a warehouse, such as a bin, bay or shelf.
The default label is Bin. If you don't split the warehouse into specific areas, you could set this label to n/a so that people know not to use it.
References can be added to a stock movement transaction, to include information which is unique to that transaction. For example, when issuing stock to an internal area, you can add details such as a campaign reference or requisition number.
The default reference labels are Reference and Second ref.
Note: If you make changes to configurable names, but the new names are not displayed in Sage 200 workspaces, we recommend restarting your server (IIS).
