Set model properties
Use the General tab to:
- Enter the model Models are data schemas that describe how the information held in a particular database can be accessed and displayed within Sage 200. Each model is contained in its own dynamic link library (DLL). name.
- If required, select the data source The origin of the information being included in the Sage 200 suite. This includes the location of the information on the server. connection string A unique string of characters that identifies the server where information is held and the password information to the data. or add a new data source string.
To set model properties
Open: System Administration > Information Management > Models.
- Right-click the Model Name and choose Properties.
- If you are adding a model, the properties General tab opens automatically when you select Add New Model.

Enter the Model Name.
The names Sage 200 Accounts, Sage 200 CRM and Sage 200 Manufacturing are reserved for Sage 200, Sage 200 CRM and Sage 200 Manufacturing models.
Note - warningSage 200 CRM is no longer supported with Sage 200 Professional from September 2021. This has been replaced by the Qmulus Qnect Connector integration. See Sage CRM - Qmulus Qnect Connector (opens in a new tab).
- Enter a description.
- Enter the Model Version number.

Select the model data source from the Data Source drop-down list.
Each model can only have one data source.
- If the model has no data source, select No Data Source from the Data Source drop-down list.

We recommend that you add data sources before adding models, although you can add a data source at the same time as adding a model. If you have not created your data source yet, select Add New Data Source from the Data Source drop-down list.
The Add New Data Source window appears.
- Click OK to confirm the model properties.
The Properties window opens, displaying the General tab.
