Combining recommendations
To simplify ordering, you can combine recommendations for the same Make to Stock item into one works order The authority to produce a part using the components specified on a BOM and the process specified on the routing.. You can also combine items with the same supplier into one purchase order.
However, you cannot combine buy recommendations linked to demands for sales order items with the fulfilment type from supplier direct. This is because the purchase order items need to hold the delivery address from the sales order.
If multiple locations are used for component store and supply, the items being combined must come from the same warehouse.
You cannot combine the following:
- Service type items, typically non-stock items Items which do not have a product record set up in Stock Control. Such items are usually bought for a specific job. from estimates Forecast project costs, based on expected costs of labour, machinery and operation times. In Manufacturing, estimates are produced for one-off items or non-repetitive batches. or subcontract operations Work tasks that are subcontracted to external organisations or to other internal departments within the organisation..
- Linked recommendations.
- If the adjusted quantity is valid for the unit that the item is stocked in, the recommendations are combined into the first recommendation that you selected. You can see this in the MRP - Recommendations list.
- All recommendations have a Created Reference which is the first combined recommendation Rec. Number.
The status of the other recommendations changes to Deleted.
To combine recommendations
Open: Planning > MRP > Processing > Combine Recommendations.
- Select the recommendations that you want to combine.
- To save the selection, click OK.
The combined adjusted quantity must be valid for the unit that the item is stocked in. If not, you cannot proceed with combining the recommendations.
