Print project credit notes
When a credit note is printed:
- The credit note number is assigned by the system.
- The bill status changes from Draft to Finalised.
To print credit notes
Open: Project Accounting > Billing > Print Credit Note.
- You can display all printed or unprinted credit notes, customer or bill reference.
- To show all credit notes, select All bills.
- To show invoices for a project, choose Single project and select the Project code.
- To show credit notes for a customer, choose Single customer and select the customer.
- To show credit notes for a bill reference, choose Single bill and select the Bill no.

To display the credit notes, click Display.
Note: You can sort the list by clicking on the column headings. For example clicking on Customer name will sort the list in ascending or descending alphabetical order.
- The Credit note date displayed on the credit note will be set to today's date. You can amend this date if required.

For foreign currency invoices, select the Exchange Rates tab to view or amend the exchange rate used to process the invoice.
This tab is only visible if you have selected Use exchange rates when printing invoices and credit notes from Sales orders in SOP Settings.
If this tab is not visible, the exchange rate set when the bill was entered is applied to the invoice.
About viewing or amending exchange rates- To edit the exchange rate, you must have selected Use exchange rates when printing invoices and credit notes from Sales orders in SOP Settings.

The currency and the type of exchange rate are taken from the customer account.

If the customer uses period exchange rates, the period exchange rate relevant to the invoice date is used. If no period exchange rate has been set up for the invoice date, the invoice uses the exchange rate set in the most recent period. If no period exchange rates have been set up, the exchange rate is automatically set to 1.000.
- If the customer uses a single exchange rate, the exchange rate set in the exchange rate table is used.
- If the exchange rate is Amendable, you can edit the exchange rate on this tab before printing the invoice. If the customer uses a single exchange rate, you can save the new rate to the exchange rate table when you print the invoice. If the customer uses a period exchange rate, the new rate is only applied to the invoices printed.

You can print a selection of credit notes or all the notes in the list.
Tip: To select multiple items, use the Ctrl key to pick individual items, or hold down the Shift key to select a block of items.
- To print a selection of credit notes, highlight the notes and click Print.
- To print all the credit notes in the list, click Print All.
