How to
Add a courier
Add the couriers that you want to be made available when you despatch a sales order. You can choose one of these couriers when you add tracking information to the despatch.
-
Select Add.
-
Enter the courier Name.
-
Enter the Courier Website address. This is for information only.
-
Enter the courier Tracking URL. The consignment number for the despatch will be added to this URL to generate a link to the tracking information on the courier's website.
For example, if the courier's tracking information address is in the format https://www.sage.com/tracking/123 for a consignment number 123, then you should set the Tracking URL to https://www.sage.com/tracking/
-
Select OK.
Here are some examples of the tracking URLs for different couriers. These URLs are subject to change, so you should always check the URL used by your courier.

Edit a courier
To rename the courier or change its website or tracking details, just select the item and make any changes.
The new courier details will only be used when you next add new tracking information for a despatch. However, once you have added tracking information for a despatch, you will still see the old courier details if you view or amend the despatch tracking information.
Delete a courier
You can remove a courier to stop it being used.
The courier will not be available when you next add tracking information for a despatch. However, you will still see the old courier if you view or amend existing tracking information for a despatch.
-
To remove a courier, select the courier and then select Delete.
Set a default courier
If you mainly only use one courier, then you can set it as the default. When you next add tracking information for a despatch, the default courier will be automatically selected, but you will still be able to select a different courier.
Setting a default courier, or clearing the default, will not affect any existing tracking information for a despatch.
To set a default courier:
-
Select the courier and then select Set as Default.
-
Select OK.
Note: To stop using a default courier, select Clear Default.
Record courier information for a despatch
To record tracking information when you despatch order items, or amend the tracking information, you must first enable Record tracking on despatch in Invoice and Order Settings - Printing and Tracking.
-
When you despatch an order, you will be prompted to add tracking and shipping information. For example, you can enter the courier, consignment number, Incoterm, reason for export, weight, number of pieces, and any notes for the shipment.
You can skip this step if there is no tracking information to add, or you are not ready to enter it during despatch.
To despatch an order item and record tracking information, see Record despatch of goods and services.
-
If you want to add or amend tracking and shipping information after you have despatched the order item, use Amend Tracking Information.
To amend tracking information, see Tracking and shipping information for a despatch.
