Export System Administration settings

Use Export Settings to export settings (users, roles and features) to an XML file in order to import the same information into another deployment of Sage 200 Professional.

The export and import of user information cannot create users in the new deployment of Sage 200, but user information (such as user contact properties, company access, and assigned roles) is copied automatically in the process.

Note: User passwords are not exported.

You can export roles and features information.

  • If you export roles, all roles information is copied, including the user to role mappings.

  • If you export features, only features that have been manually added in the existing deployment (not those in the core components or that have been added, through add-ons) will be copied, including feature to role mappings and feature targets.

  • If you export features but not roles, then the feature authorisation for roles will not be exported and you will need to set this up once you have imported the data.

To export administration information

Open: System Administration.

  1. Right-click on Sage 200 SA and select Export settings.
  2. To export roles, select Export Roles.

All role information is copied, including the user to role mappings.

  3. To export features, select Export Features.

All feature information is copied, including feature to role mappings and feature targets.

If you export features, but not roles, then you will need to set up feature authorisation for roles once you have imported data into the new deployment.

  4. Click OK to confirm that you want to export the information.

  5. Browse to where you want to save the XML file, enter a file name and click Save.
