Create project statuses
Use this window to create statuses for your projects. For each status you must choose whether costs and/or revenue transactions can be posted when the status is applied to your projects.
You can use the project status to:

Allow or prevent cost and revenue transactions being posted to a project.
To allow cost and revenue transactions being posted to a project, you must create a status where the Allow Costs or Allow Revenue options are selected.
You then assign this status to a project, group, or item. This project, group, or item is then available for selection when entering either cost or revenue transactions, such as timesheets or revenue adjustments.

Allow or prevent sub-projects, project groups and items being removed from the project structure.
To allow groups and project items to be removed from a structure, you must create a status with Allow Archive / Delete selected.
You then assign this status to a sub-project, group or project item. This sub-project, group or item can then be removed from a project's structure. For sub-projects and groups, all items below the sub-project or group in the structure must also have a status with Allow Archive / Delete selected.
Note: You can only remove groups and project items that do not have transactions posted to them.

Allow projects to be archived.
To archive a project, you must create a status with Allow Archive / Delete selected. Once this status is assigned to a project and all items below the project in the structure, this project can be archived.
Once archived, the project no longer appears on any of the look-up lists.
Note: If you are not using project statuses, you can always add costs and revenue transactions, remove items from the project structure and archive projects.
Some default status levels are provided, such as: Bid, Open, In Progress, Inactive, On Hold, Complete, and Delete. You can change these if required.
To create project statuses
Open: Project Accounting > Project Maintenance > Project Statuses.
- To add a new status, click Add.
- Enter the status Description.

Set the options for this status:
Allow Costs
Select this to allow projects with this status to receive cost postings.
Allow Revenue
Select this to allow projects with this status to receive revenue postings.
Allow Archive / Delete
Select this to:
- Allow projects with this status to be archived.
- Allow project items with this status to be removed from a project's structure.
Note:- You cannot also enable Allow Costs or Allow Revenue when Allow Archive / Delete is selected.
- You cannot disable Allow Archive / Delete for a status that has already been applied to an archived project.
- To save your changes, click OK.
