Assign features for purchase order authorisation

There are a range of different tasks in the purchase order authorisation process. These are:

  • Authoriser.

    This is the person who authorises the purchase order in accordance with the authorisation rules; e.g. a head of department.

  • Originator.

    This is the person who requested the goods be ordered; e.g. a requisition manager, or warehouse manager.

  • Order Taker.

    This is the person who actually enters the purchase order into Sage 200; e.g. a purchasing clerk.

  • Super Authoriser.

    A super authoriser can authorise all purchase orders or requisitions, regardless of the authorisation rules; e.g. a Finance Director or Managing Director.

  • Rule Administrator.

    This is the person who sets up and manages the authorisation rules. This person could also control alternative authorisers; e.g. a Finance Director.

You need to decide which of your Sage 200 users has access to each of these tasks. A single Sage 200 user could have access to none, some, or all of these tasks. This helps to make sure that your authorisation process works smoothly and securely.

You control access to each of these tasks by assigning the relevant features to roles.

The authorisation tasks and their related features are as follows:
