Custom layouts in Manufacturing

This feature is used with: Manufacturing modules.

This option applies to reports run automatically from Manufacturing modules, other than the Bill of Materials module.

Use this option to select alternative reports for Manufacturing modules that are run automatically within options.

Note: You can select your own Manufacturing reports from menus. However, after creating these, you must add them to menus in the usual way so that they are available for selection.

Manufacturing modules offer a range of standard reports which are already defined in terms of content and layout. You can create your own reports using Report Designer in the following ways:

  • Copy the standard layouts with alternative names and amend the copies as required.

    Note: If you amend the standard layouts without copying them first, amendments by Sage to the standard reports will overwrite your changes.

  • Create completely new report layouts.

Note: When you save layouts from Report Designer, you must save them in the same folder as the standard report layouts.

Tip:

To open Report Designer help:

Open: Tools > Run Sage Report Designer.

  • Press F1.

To make the automatically run reports which you have created, available for use, you can:

  • Associate them with the standard reports, using the Custom Layouts window.

    When you select a report, Manufacturing checks if a custom layout has been associated with the report; and if so, uses the custom layout instead.

    Note: Custom layouts apply to all users.

You must have:

  • Created alternative report layouts using Report Designer.

To select custom layouts

Open: Manufacturing System Manager > System Settings > Custom Layouts.

  1. For each report, select the Custom Layout Filename for the Report Name.

  2. Click Close.
