Set up Yodlee bank feeds

You can use the Yodlee bank feeds service to:

  • Download transactions from an online bank account.
  • Reconcile your downloaded bank transactions with those in Sage 200.

This reduces the time that you spend reconciling your bank transactions, and ensures your accounts are up to date and accurate.

How it works

Yodlee bank feeds uses a secure data aggregation service provided by a third party company Yodlee Inc. Yodlee gathers information from supported banks, either by direct feeds or by screen scraping (see Yodlee - Data Aggregation). Yodlee then passes your bank transaction details to Sage in order to display them in your Sage 200 software.

Note: To benefit from the bank feeds service, you must provide Yodlee with your online banking credentials. This is so the Yodlee service can access your banking data. This uses a secure connection and to protect your details they are not stored by Sage and are not accessible within Sage 200. For information about security, see Yodlee - Data Security.

Once you download your bank transactions, you can match them to existing transactions in Sage 200, or create new transactions. This confirms that everything in your live bank account is reflected in Sage 200. Sage 200 will remember which transactions you have matched, ready for your next bank reconciliation.

Before you start

It's easy to set up Yodlee bank feeds, but before you start there are a few things you will need to do.

Set user access for Yodlee bank feeds

You can choose which users can set up Yodlee bank feeds, download transactions, and reconcile the transactions.

Open: System Administration.

  1. Open Roles.
  2. Right-click the role name and choose Features.

  3. Enable the features in Cash Book > Advanced:
    • Bank Feeds Configuration.
    • Bank Feeds Download Transactions.
    • Bank Feeds Reconciliation.

Enable Yodlee bank feeds

Open: Cash Book > Cash Book Accounts > Amend Bank Account Details.

  1. Choose the bank account that you want to set up for Yodlee bank feeds.

  2. Move to the E-Banking tab.
  3. In the Yodlee Bank Feeds section, select Enable.
  4. Read the bank feeds setup information.

    If you're happy to proceed, then select Let's get started.

  5. Sign in using your Sage ID, and click Allow to give permission to retrieve bank feed data.

    • You must sign in with this same Sage ID whenever you want to download transactions from the Yodlee bank feeds service.
    • If you don't yet have a Sage ID, click the link at the bottom of the Sign in screen to create one.
  6. If this is the first time you've used this Sage ID with the Yodlee bank feeds service, you will be asked to sign in again.
  7. Enter your Sage 200 licence account number and serial number.

    This was displayed on the previous bank feeds setup screen, or you can find this from Tools > About Sage 200.

  8. Set up the connection to your bank and select your bank account.
    1. Select Add to add your account.
    2. Choose your bank. As you start typing, a list of suggestions is displayed, and you can click Search to see more results.

    3. Enter the username and password for your bank account.

    4. After your account details have been successfully verified, click Close.
    5. Select the bank account that you want to link with the Sage 200 bank account, then click OK.

      If you have more than one account with that bank, you will see a list of all the accounts.

When you have completed setting up Yodlee bank feeds, you will see the bank account details on the E-Banking tab.
